These Terms govern your use of the TechBuddy service (the "Service"), operated by TechBuddy ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

TechBuddy provides patient, plain-language guides, an AI helper, and short how-to videos covering everyday technology topics such as email, video calls, photos, printing, and internet safety.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be of legal age in your country to enter into a contract, or have authority to bind the organization you represent. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for any activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not:

  • use the Service for unlawful purposes;
  • engage in fraud, spam, or impersonation;
  • infringe any intellectual property or other rights;
  • interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, including probing for vulnerabilities, distributing malware, or scraping data beyond what is permitted by our published interfaces.

4. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, content, branding and documentation, is owned by TechBuddy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with your plan. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or circumvent the technical limits of the Service.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (for example, questions or notes). You grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to operate and improve the Service.

6. AI-generated content

Parts of the Service produce AI-generated text and videos. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be relied on as professional, legal, financial, or medical advice. You are responsible for your prompts, for how you use outputs, and for ensuring you have the rights to any inputs you provide. We may filter, refuse, or remove outputs and may suspend accounts that repeatedly produce prohibited content (including unlawful material, harassment, malware, or attempts to jailbreak the system).

7. Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment terms, billing, tax, renewals, cancellations and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our own refund commitments are described in our Refund Policy.

8. Service availability

We work hard to keep the Service running, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination your right to use the Service ends; we may delete your data after a reasonable retention period, subject to legal obligations.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special or incidental damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence).

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify TechBuddy against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TechBuddy is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
